John Kheit, an IP attorney for Chadbourne & Parke in New York, is representing AllofMP3, and he had one basic point to make in today’s news conference in the wake of the trade agreement: AllofMP3 is legal, and it’s not going anywhere. Kheit points out that diplomats can talk as much as they want, but AllofMP3 isn’t illegal until judges decide.

Japan is planning to take RFID to the extreme by creating an island where there’s just no escapin’ it. The nation is looking to set up an “experimental landmass” where a smorgasbord of sensors will “allow doctors to remotely monitor the health of the elderly,” and in another instance, “monitor the movement of pedestrians and notify nearby drivers.”

XiTi Monitor has released its latest report (FR) on web browsers utilization in Europe and the rest of the world according to a survey during the first week of July. All European countries saw an increase in Firefox participation with Hungary showing the most dramatic increase from 27.2%, in the latest March 2007 survey, to 39.7%.

The Pennsylvania based Lithium Technology Corporation recently demonstrated a new type of “plug-in” Toyota Prius hybrid car.
